Trigger Finger

Also called as stenosing tenosynovitis, it is a condition in which the fingers get stuck in bent position and are associated with pain and swelling.
The tendons of the hands are designed such that they glide through the pulley system in the hands without friction during the finger movements. Trigger finger can occur if one of the three things happen:
- The tendon enlarges (does not fit through pulley well)
- The tendon lining or tenosynovium increases in thickness (does not fit through pulley well)
- The pulley becomes thicker (the opening for the tendon gets smaller).
Targeted treatment
- Ultrasound guided Peri-tendinous injection
- Ultrasound guided Percutaneous release
